Plaque memorializing the founding of the District

The Yolo Fire Protection District was formed in April, 1939, as a special district.  The Board of Commissioners (the “Board”) of the District is the governing body of the District, and is elected by the voters in the Yolo Fire Protection District.  It is the responsibility of the Board to ensure that fire protection services and emergency medical aid are delivered as needed in the District within the constraints of available funding.  The Board selects the Fire Chief who has the duty and responsibility to administer the policies set forth by the Board and to serve as the head of the Yolo Volunteer Fire Department.
